The Community Farm

The Community Farm is a social enterprise based in Chew Magna, Somerset.
Established in 2011, we’re owned and governed by 500 member stakeholders.
Environmental sustainability, community engagement and nature-friendly farming are at our heart.

We grow and sell locally-sourced, seasonal produce that’s 100% organic.
Working with organic producers and local farmers, our box delivery service supplies hundreds of homes throughout Bath, Bristol, The Chew Valley, Frome and Weston-Super-Mare. We’ve outlets in Bath, Chew Magna and Southmead Hospital, too.

Profits from products sold fund learning activities for local children, adults and vulnerable people. Regular volunteering opportunities are also offered at The Farm – come and see where your food comes from, find out how it is grown, reconnect with the land, learn about good health, the environment and sustainable farming!

Events:

Community Farmer Day - Leeks, leeks and more leeks!

Throughout the spring, summer and autumn we hold one-day volunteer events called Community Farmer Days. These involve volunteers coming to help out in the fields. While volunteers actively participate in the work of the farm these events are intended to be sociable and fun too. The Community Farm is in a beautiful setting, overlooking Chew Valley Lake. Adults and (supervised) children are welcome. Normally we start at 10am and finish by 4pm (or a little earlier). At this event we'll be planting lots of leeks! We’ll be sowing clover into the pathways to provide ground cover too. We'll get the soup and bread in for a yummy lunch and ask you folks bring some goodies along to share too. We ask for a voluntary donation of £4 to cover these costs. If you'd like to contribute this can either be paid when booking your place or on the day. Booking is essential - https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/community-farmer-day-16-may-leeks-leeks-and-more-leeks-tickets-91125564015 While you're here don't forget to pop into our on-site Veg Shed and take home some of our gorgeous organic veggies. To comply with health and safety legislation it is important for us to have all attendees details logged onto our Mailchimp database in advance. You will only need to fill this in once. This information will be confidential and not used for any other purpose. Please email Ian on communityfarmer@thecommunityfarm.co.uk to get access to this.
