Creative enrichment for all walks of life
We pride ourselves on encouraging broad participation in creative enrichment, and creating grassroots opportunities to showcase work by aspiring, emerging and professional artists alike.
Since 2013 we have welcomed all ages and all walks of life with free and very low cost creative enrichment opportunities in community settings during Chelsea Fringe Festival, Wandsworth Arts Fringe, Community Business Weekend and Get Creative UK.
Events that are highly accessible to the wider general public are extremely time consuming and costly to deliver. To continue this important grassroots work, year-round we rely on art buyers and group workshop bookings.
We offer nature inspired creative sessions for adults at our Battersea Park garden base, or we can go to you. At the garden, Art Hut pops-up for open days and festivals in partnership with Thrive Battersea Park. Thrive is the leading UK charity that uses gardening to bring about positive changes in the lives of people living with disabilities or ill health, or who are isolated, disadvantaged or vulnerable.
Art Hut showcase creativity based on nature themes and the wider local area. A range of sculptures, prints and paintings are available to purchase, made by various ages and levels of experience from aspiring to professional. This initiative aims to promote intra-community connections and offer accessible creative enrichment – in particular for vulnerable, isolated or marginalised adults of various abilities, backgrounds and experience. Art Hut opening times vary. When it is open entry is free but we ask that all Art Hut visitors show their support with an art purchase.
