How to plan your Community Business Weekend event in 30 minutes

Not sure what to do for Community Business Weekend? Short on time to plan something special? Watch our 30min webinar to help you get inspired and into planning mode. We hear from Loretta Lock at Defiant Sports about what she is planning, and what it was like to take part last year. And we share tips and resources to make it easier for you.

Here’s some tips to get you started:

  1. Think about who you want to attract. If you want more families to come along, have a child-friendly activity on Saturday or Sunday. Trying to market a new service to the after-work crowd? Try Thursday evening. Want to recruit volunteers or new community share members? Have a registration sheet on the day.
  2. Don’t do it alone – rope in your volunteers and trustees to give tours and talk about their experience. Sharing your community business history is really powerful.
  3. List your event(s) on the map – Once you know what you are planning, list your activities on the map and you’ll receive free bunting and stickers! If you really have no time to do something special, list your existing opening hours and activities on the map anyway.
